Twenty one years ago I photographed the response of the American Indian Movement and their friends and allies to a home game featuring the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Washington Redskins. Native American people consider the term ‘redskin’ to be racist. Here are images of the protest back in 1993. Since then the awareness of the issue has grown and tomorrow’s repeat performance promises more protests.
