Mustang Karen! Lantry, S.D. on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation—another search to find out how one person can make the world a better place because of their presence. Karen Sussman’s work saving wild mustangs and burrows is not only admirable, it’s inspirational. Hosting wild animals takes land. Karen is a hero as she has worked tirelessly to share the plight of the wild horses in the west. Karen is doing such good work In the course of making these images I came to understand that farmers and ranchers feel that Mustangs threaten desert farms in the west. Crossing into private property is a death sentence for a wild mustang. I donated some money but I feel that sharing her story may widen understanding of the plight of wild horses today. Karen works to save animals set to be killed. Please get to know more about her work! Here is the link to her organization: International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros.
